Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield Parent Company has Acquired Indiana University Health Plans

IMPORTANT: Please note that effective January 1, 2025, Indiana University Health Plans was acquired by Elevance Health, the parent company of Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield in Indiana. IU Health Plans Medicare Advantage member’s coverage will not change in 2025 due to the change in ownership.

Medicare Advantage members have received additional information on enrollment for 2026. Additional information can be found at anthem.com/medicare or on the Sydney Health digital app. For questions related to plan year 2026, members can also contact Anthem customer service at 855.251.8827 (TTY/TDD) from 8 am - 8 pm, seven days a week (except Thanksgiving and Christmas) from October 1 - March 31. Language assistance is available.

For questions about Indiana University Health Plans related to plan year 2025 or 2025 enrollment, contact 800-455-9776, (TTY/TDD 711) from 8 am – 8 pm, seven days a week (except Thanksgiving and Christmas) from October 1 - December 31 to speak with a Member Advocate. Language assistance is available.

If you are a member of an IU Health Plans employer-sponsored plan, your employer will inform you of any changes to your health insurance benefits. The transition to Anthem platforms will occur at the end date of your plan year; please check with your employer for the specific date. Log in to the Member Portal for details about your 2025 plan. If you have questions, please call 866.895.5828 (TTY/TDD 711) from 7 am – 7 pm, Monday – Friday. Language assistance is available.

Attention Indiana University Health Employees: Beginning January 1, 2025, your benefits are administered by Anthem and you should have received a new ID card if you enrolled in IU Health employee benefits. This site no longer contains information relevant to your employee benefits. To access information on your 2025 benefit coverage please contact Anthem Member Services at 833.812.1795 or log into the Sydney Health digital app.
